Raleigh Police reported that a collision occurred on Centennial Parkway, involving two drivers who were allegedly racing. Jocelynn Morrison, 24, and Jada Ballen, 25, were identified as the drivers involved in the incident.

According to authorities, Morrison lost control of her vehicle and made contact with Ballen’s car, resulting in both vehicles crossing a grass median. Ballen was able to regain control of her car and pulled over on Lake Wheeler Road. In contrast, Morrison continued traveling through the intersection and collided with two trees before coming to a stop. Raleigh Police stated that Morrison sustained severe injuries and was transported to a local hospital for medical treatment.

Ballen was arrested and charged with a felony for causing serious injury by vehicle. The black Chevy Malibu, believed to be Ballen’s vehicle, was observed at the crash site, displaying a shattered windshield. The accident prompted the closure of Centennial Parkway but was reopened by 11 a.m.

An investigation is currently ongoing, and Raleigh Police urge anyone with information about the incident to come forward by visiting Crimestoppers at www.p3tips.com/89 for anonymous reporting options or calling 919-996-1193.
